Obituary for Charles Warren "Chuck" Perry

Charles Warren “Chuck” Perry, 90, of Beech Grove. He was born on March 4, 1928 and passed away on August 5, 2018 to join his wife of 58 years, Margarete Marie (Kirchhoff) and son, Charles William Perry in God’s house. Born of parents Lawrence John and Viola Myrtle Perry.

Preceding Chuck in death were his parents; sister, Nadine Fullenwider; brothers, Francis and Harry; sister in laws, Irene Perry (Largo Florida) and Hilda Van Horn (Lorain, Ohio).

Survivors include his loving and wonderful daughter, Cynthia L. Linson; 3 grandchildren, Kyle, Ashley and Haley Linson; 3 great grandchildren, Abrielle, Nola, and Camden; several nieces, nephews and special mention of son-in-law, Kevin Linson.

Employed for many years by the old WM. H. Block Co. as an appliance and television salesman. After retiring he worked with Whitlock Pressure Wash of H.V.A.C. sales, Connersville, IN.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Southport Masonic Lodge 270 for 61 years, American Legion Post 276 Beech Grove and Indianapolis Bonsai Club. He volunteered for 40 plus years at the election polls in Beech Grove.

He enjoyed with his family for many years going to Van Bibber Lake and Star Dust Hills, boating and fishing. He volunteered going to Garfield Park Conservatory and tending to the Bonsai trees planted there. Watching and being involved in his grandchildren’s activities and various family functions was one of his favorite pastimes, also spending time visiting with his friends at the American Legion (Meridian Street), the waitresses at Steak and Shake in Beech Grove and sharing stories with his young friends that worked at McAlister’s Deli.

Special friends, Donna Shirley (I.B.C.), Jeff and Heidi Bane, and the Mattingly family.

Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, with a Masonic service being conducted at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Childrens Hospital, where no child is ever turned away.

Special thanks to the nursing staff and aides at St. Francis Hospital and his friends and staff at Greenwood Village South.
