Obituary for Betty J Scott

Betty J. Scott, 96, of Indianapolis, passed away on Nov. 28, 2018.

Born Feb. 4, 1922 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Gus and Mable Jeanette (Klinger) Winters, she graduated from George Washington High School. A charter member of St. Jude Catholic Church, she will be fondly remembered for her love of animals and her ability to cook a fantastic meal. She retired from the Indianapolis School Board.

Survivors include her daughter, Diana (John) Counceller; son, Mark (Shelia) Scott; grandchildren, Eric White, Melissa Hall, Heather Stofer, and Dennis Day; and great grandchildren, Savanna, Olivia and Robert Philpott, Zachary and Hannah White, Lyla and Levi Hall.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, James Scott in 2014.

Visitation will be 4-8:00 PM Monday, Dec. 3 at G.H. Herrmann Madison Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Indianapolis Humane Society.
